Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cup Fresh Water
  • 1/2 cup Dehydrated Milk
  • 1 1/2 cup Parmesan Cheese sliced or shredded
  • 2 tbsp Olive Oil
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 1 pinch Black Pepper
  • 1 box Parmesan Couscous
  • 1/2 cup Dehydrated Bacon Bits

Instructions

  1. Using a single burner one pot backpacking stove, bring water to a boil. Turn burner to low and add parmesan seasoning packet from couscous box, olive oil, salt, black pepper.

  2. Add box of couscous, shredded parmesan cheese and bacon bits to pot. Stir ingredients together for 1 minute.  (save 1/2 cup of parmesan cheese for the topping).

  3. Turn stove off, top with a thin layer of parmesan cheese.  Cover the pot with a lid.  Let sit for 15 minutes.

  4. Lift lid, check to see if couscous is cooked.  Couscous is merely small pieces of pasta, grab a kernel - if you can softly bite through the kernel the couscous is fully cooked.

  5. Stir, and serve.
